Can you believe it?!? SNOW!!!






Yesterday I woke up to Ben screaming - "the first snowflake of winter!" And it was - but it was meek, barely sticking, and later turning to rain and slush. Exciting but anit-climatic at best!

Well, this morning, he did it again - "its snowing"! Given yesterdays announcement I didn't have high expectations. But as I came down the stairs I looked outside...oh my goodness! Now - THIS is snow ;-)!!!

Ben LOVES the cold! He loves to play with ice, eat ice, stay in freezing cold pools, and enjoys a cold bath much more than a warm one. Needless to say he really enjoyed being outside today. We had a ton of fun!

Ben Update: 3 Year Old Check Up

Our boy continues to grow! He had his 3 year old check up today.
Weight: 30.5 lbs
Height: 36.5 inches

Officially over 3 feet tall! He has grown 5 lbs and 3.5 inches in 1 year. Not bad! He wears a size 3 and his feet are a size 9! Matt is happy to state that Ben is now officially half of his (Matt's) height!

Title Change!

Just a quick note to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to our boy!!!!!

With this also comes the subtitle change of our blog. No longer Trials and Tribulations of a 2 year old. Now - Life of 3 at 3!

6am this morning....

The affair of paint and truck continues as early as 6am! Good thing the paint is "washable"! I don't know what Ben enjoys more...painting the trucks or playing in the water while washing them clean afterwards! So much fun!

Match Made in Heaven!

As of late, Ben has begun a new love of trucks. All things BIG...specifically Monster Trucks! If it has big wheels and can drive over other cars, trucks, its all good for Ben!


In addition to this new fascination, Ben has also regained a new interest in Arts and Crafts, specifically painting.

Last night his 2 loves met....like a Resses Peanut Butter cup! Trucks and Paint?!? Yes! Why use a brush when you can use Monster Truck wheels?!?

Happy Halloween!

Happpy Halloween!!!
ooooo so scary!

ooooo so sweet!

Ben was Sully monster (aka James P Sullivan from Monsters Inc.). Each year I'll call my sister in law and find out what my nephew Jack was for halloween when he was Ben's age...this year we hit Jack Pot with Sully!
Ben has always enjoyed the movie, and loved the character so it took no convincing to wear this outfit! In our new neighboorhood Trick or Treating is a real "treat"! The houses are so close together you just go from lawn to lawn and ring the door bell (Ben's favorite part!). We went out 2x. Once around 5pm. Came back in around 5:30 for dinner and then Ben and Matt headed out when it got dark for a little son / daddy trick or treat time and came back with a boat load of sweets! This morning he came down and began sorting and counting, organizing into types - lollipops, candy with orange wrappers, m&ms, you get the picture! It was a ton of fun and truly our first real experience with Ben "getting" halloween!
