Signing Off

Well, as you can see we have not been posting much. As more and more of our family and friends have joined Facebook, we have found this to be the optimum way for us to communicate with those we love around the country.

Therefore, we are signing off indefinitely. Never say never - but for now - we are taking a sabbatical. If you want to find out how we are and what we are up to visit Stacey and Matt on Facebook...

We look forward to seeing you there!

Summer 2008

Its been a fun summer and we are sad that it is almost over. We don't have a really good excuse for not blogging other than the fact that we have just been truly enjoying the sun and the beautiful weather!

Its not that we have been uber busy or that we have been traveling. Quite the contrary. Its been a quiet summer (compared to last summer spent packing and moving!). We've spent most of our free time either at the pool near our home or in the backyard with our neighboors.

We are so lucky - we have the best community and the best neighboors! Even better is that all of the kids are relatively close in age. 6 kids ages 5.5, 5, 3.5, 3, 3, and 9 months. Can you beat it?!?!? We are loving life!

The Eastern Shore

This weekend we went to the Eastern Shore of Maryland, more specifically St. Michaels. Our family friends Vivian and Jim invite us with my brother Dave and his wife Julia. What a BEAUTIFUL place!

Viv and Jim live on the Miles River just 2 homes from the St. Michaels Marina. The location is amazing. The weather was perfect and the hospitality from Viv, Jim, and thier daughter Deirdre was so wonderful and much appreciated! Here are some pics from a perfect weekend away!

Note: Ben has become quite the co-captain on the "open seas"!

What we've been up to lately - in pics

Just a few pics to capture what we've been doing lately!

Beautiful Day!

Today was simply perfect!

Just the right amount of sun combined with a tried and true long time favorite - the SLIP AND SLIDE! We played with our neighboors Alex and Chad. It was a blast! I'm sure all 3 will sleep well tonight!

Gotcha Day Quote

To Matt and I from Ben:

"It wouldn't be my gotcha day without you guys".

Got to love it!

Happy Gotcha Day!

Today is Ben's Gotcha Day! In the world of adoption, Gotcha Day refers to the day that WE all became a family, the day we came together and "got" Ben.

Its a very special day for us - very similar to a birthday for most traditional families. As with a birthday - we like to give Ben a gift on his Gotcha Day. This year it was a digital camera of his very own!

Here are some pics! I'm actually quite impressed - he is really enjoying it!

Ben, the Photographer

Ben has recently found obsession with our digital camera. Here are a few of the pics that he took this weekend!

What's that book say?!?

What are they reading?!?! It's a book called "Cool Baby Names"! That's right folks, we are at it again...No, Stacey is NOT pregnant. We have officially started the adoption for #2. As with Ben, we are about 18 months +/-1-2 months away from having the babe in our arms but the clock is ticking. Last night Ben wanted to "look" at baby names. He likes that name Ben. We explained to him that may be slightly confusing ;-)
We are excited for this Journey. Oh - and yes, we are adopting from South Korea again.
More to follow!

Lite Brite!

People often ask what our favorite toys were growing up! Well, among many things - I loved a Lite Brite! I loved making beautiful pictures with all the colors of the rainbow.

When I asked Matt whether or not he had a Lite Brite his response was - "Yeah, sure - but by the time it made it to me and Chris I'm pretty sure all of the pieces were missing!".

Well, Friday Ben and I hit the VNA Rummage sale. Guess what we found? We bought a Lite Brite - $3! Can't beat it!

Pasta Pasta!

Wednesday night Tara and Ben made home made pasta! For those of you who are not aware, our sitter Tara (of almost 2 years) who has made our lives so much easier and allows me to work 3 days / week is moving in with us in May. In addition to Tara moving in - she is bringing with her a pasta maker!

So - this week Tara and Ben made pasta (twice!)! I love to cook but have never attempted fresh homemeade Pasta. Not only did she make it look easy and fun - but it tasted great! Ben had a great time!

PS - she brought a waffle maker too! Banana Walnut Waffles anyone?!?!

Cousin's Weekend 2008

Each year a group of my cousins get together with their boys and their boys (kids). This year we hosted! We had 12 people spend the night! We had a blast! Can't wait for next year...
